THE COMPANY:

The quality of their products and the outstanding level of the aftersales service have enabled this business to become the genuine market leader in their field – the manufacture and supply of heavy lifting equipment. This Field Service role is hugely important to ensure their market position is maintained in the future.

THE ROLE:

As one of their key Field Service Engineers, your main responsibilities will be to provide service, maintenance and general repair for the extensive range of lifting equipment directly at customers sites. Each day will genuinely be different as you will find yourself working within workshops, garages and franchised dealerships.
Covering the South East of England, you will be fully responsible for your own area and must be comfortable working on your own to fault find and fix issues as they arise. Although a strong person work ethic is a requirement, you also must be able to work in a small team as you will also be involved in the installation of machines across your area.

THE PERSON:

We’re interested in your transferable skills as you could find yourself carrying out a variety of roles from pre-planned preventative maintenance (PPM), general repairs, fault diagnosis and installation.

Although it would be advantageous to already hold a knowledge of lifts, hydraulics and electro mechanics it is not a requirement as full training is given. A general technical background from a related industry (Automotive, Material Handling, Plant etc…) will give you a real head start. If you are a technician or a mechanic, then this could be the role for you!

Above all you need to be an independent ‘self-starter’ who is motivated to ‘get on and do it’. As with all field service roles this is an essential characteristic and means you will be successful in what is a very autonomous way of working. Although primarily ‘territory’ based, you will need be flexible and happy to work away from home when necessary.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Hydraulic lifting repair experience – Essential
  • Background / knowledge of Automotive Equipment – Ideal
  • Comfortable travelling & working away from home when needed – Essential
  • Good organisation skills – Essential
  • Full driving licence – Essential
